WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, CRAFT?
I've always been annoyed by the modern meaning of craft. It sounds so home-done and amateur, and it can be; but true craft refers to the level of quality and expertise applied to the making of something. I love it as a verb: to craft something, often from seemingly nothing.
I would say everything I do is crafted, just as it is designed. But some things fall more heavily into the category of craft, merely because of the materials used to make them, and the motivation for putting it all together. It might be called art, but most of my pieces have function as well as form, and so, I call it craft.
